my life

I throw cereal bowls into the dishwasher, grab my laptop, snatch my cell, and sequester myself in the bathroom for some important prospective client phone call. With my three-year-old tapping on the door, I try my best to sound professional and confident.

My phone rings while I'm driving kids home from school and I realize that this could be the call that closes the deal - acquiring another client is a lot of work - "Okay kids, Mommy has to take this business call, be nice to each other and don't make any noise." If I didn't have a blood pressure problem before, I feel like this moment may be the catalyst to seriously high blood pressure issues as I take the call. Anxiously hoping that my two quarrelsome daughters will behave long enough for me to set a date to meet with the client to discuss a recent proposal.
